We are delighted to welcome Damián Allegretti. Damián has joined our acupuncture Clinic Supervisor team and will be based in our London clinic in Southwark, working every Thursday from October 2024.
Where did you train in acupuncture?
My journey in acupuncture began at the European School of Acupuncture and TCM in Barcelona, where I developed a strong foundation in both traditional practices and modern techniques. This experience ignited my passion for Chinese medicine and set me on a rewarding path.
How has your induction been with NCA?
My time at NCA has already been incredibly inspiring. The community here is vibrant, filled with eager students and faculty dedicated to fostering a supportive environment. I truly appreciate how they value and encourage each person’s strengths and individuality, and I believe this is a cornerstone of Chinese medicine. I’ve felt warmly welcomed and am excited to contribute to such a dynamic setting.
Can you tell us about your practice?
In my practice, I focus on digestive, respiratory, and complex conditions. I firmly believe in the power of personalized care, striving to create a holistic experience for my patients by integrating acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, TuiNa, and Qi Gong with lifestyle guidance and mindfulness practices. In addition to running my own clinic, I am honoured to work with the Disability Foundation at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital.
How are you feeling about your role?
I am eager to mentor and support students on their journeys in acupuncture. Sharing knowledge and fostering growth in others is something I am deeply passionate about. Looking ahead, I plan to enhance the curriculum and develop workshops that bridge theory and practice.
Do you have any advice for people who want to study acupuncture?
I would encourage you to follow your passion and trust in this beautiful medicine. Immerse yourself in both the academic and practical aspects of the field, and never underestimate the importance of connecting with your patients. In my experience, this journey is incredibly fulfilling.
NCA’s London Teaching Clinic in Southwark
We are excited to open our new acupuncture teaching clinic which is housed in the Health Sciences University( HSU) clinic building in Southwark.
